Thanks to all that participated in the Spring Rails to Resort Hill Climb. We had a nice break in the weather Saturday and it was a perfect temp for climbing! We had 37 riders tackle the hill and here are some of the highlights:
- Justin Henning did the race on a unicycle in 56 minutes!! One wheel and one speed, just amazing
- 1st place men’s road – Blake Keogh, 40:40
- 1st place women’s road – Rebecca Johnson, 53:48
- 1st place men’s mt bike on road – Jacob Ostman, 51:53
We didn’t have any ladies sign up to ride their mt bike up the road. Let’s try to get some ladies in there this fall. And sadly, the Basin Trail was submerged and just way too wet to run the dirt division. This Fall the trail should be great though. After the race we convened at Pucci’s for some beverages, swag and awards. Thanks to Eric who was a busy guy keeping all our glasses full.

Although I apparently placed considerably better in the standings from where I thought I was at the finish of the race, I now see that the best way for me to improve my ranking is to enter the next R to R Mt road race as a lady.
I wonder what kind of training that involves…
